The Department of Political Science’s mission is to enable students to
understand politics in the United States, in other countries, and among
nations. It seeks to satisfy and stimulate students’ curiosity with a
rigorous education in political science. Our
graduates become capable
analysts of politics, who use this ability in their work and in their
active participation in politics at all levels.
The study of political science provides you with the knowledge of
government and the practice of politics needed to be not only a skilled analyst,
but also a citizen active in the political life of the community. And anyone
considering running for public office or serving in appointed positions in
government will benefit from studying political science.
